Job Description / Duties
Do you have a desire to serve the community in the Downtown Eastside, and would love to tell their stories? Do you have a University degree and/or professional certification in communications or related field, along with a minimum 2 years of experience in editing, creative writing, or media relations?
We are looking for a Communications Writer to serve as principal writer and editor for a wide variety of print and digital projects, including UGM’s newsletter: ‘Gratitude’, fundraising appeals, annual and campaign stewardship reports, UGM.ca, social media, communications projects, Board of Directors (BOD) reports and other written materials for internal and external audiences. The Communications Writer seeks out stories that represent the heart of UGM and ensures communications across channels maintains UGM’s voice.
You may come into contact with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
