May 19, 2021, 1:00 - 3:00 PM
Description:
Advocacy Skills & Poverty Law in Rural and Remote Settings: Stories, Experiences and Approaches.
In this webinar I will be providing an overview of the most common poverty law issues that I deal with, as an Advocate: Employment Insurance, Residential Tenancy, Income Assistance, Canada Pension Plan, Disability (IA and CPP), and Employment Standards.
Instructor: Paul Legace
Paul Lagace is the Coordinator and Legal Advocate for the Prince Rupert Unemployed Action Centre. In this session he looks at the most common tenancy issues happening in law, now, from a rural and remote settings perspective. Anyone especially doing Tenant advocacy work in a small city or town, or remote region, should find this helpful. Paul has worked in the field for seven years in both Prince Rupert and Kitimat, and is often found to be in dialogue with various media outlets throughout the Province, in regards to Tenancy matters.
