HSABC Webinar: Repairs and Maintenance

September 6, 2023, 10:00 - 11:30 AM

Much of BC’s purpose-built rental housing is aging and in need of ongoing maintenance. According to the Residential Tenancy Act, all tenants have the right to live in rental properties that comply with “health, safety and housing standards” and are “suitable for occupation.” What exactly does that mean? How do you go about asking a landlord to make a repair? From a legal standpoint, what’s the definition of an emergency repair? This webinar provides an overview of the legal responsibilities that tenants and landlords have when it comes to repairing and maintaining rental properties.
