July 25, 2023, 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM
Calling all members who have completed the full four Introduction to Decolonization series workshops.
If you've missed out on workshops 5+6 we are offering them together as a full-day workshop with Rhiannon and Andrea.
Communications
In this workshop, participants will learn more about how English, white supremacy, and colonization have
impacted Indigenous languages, the importance of keeping language whole, and a reminder that Indigenous
languages are living languages. This workshop builds off of the communication education discussed in our Level
Land Acknowledgement
In this Level 2 workshop, we tackle the discourse around land acknowledgements. Participants will dissect
existing land acknowledgements, learn about Indigenous-land relations, and learn the difference between
performative and impactful acknowledgements. By the end of this workshop, each participant will have created a
unique, impactful land acknowledgement.
