Program Manager – LEEP, Temporary

Position Summary:

The Manager is responsible for the oversight, development and management of Lookout Ethical Employment Program (LEEP) and associated Portfolio. The Manager will ensure all LEEP participants receive the supportive services needed to and that the goals and philosophy of the Society and programs are met. The Manager will maintain a minimum barrier, open door service to adult men and women who face multiple barriers to employment opportunities. The position is responsible for overseeing personnel management including hiring, training, discipline, payroll, and support in their work performance. The Manager will liaise with the research consultant to meet contracted deliverables, manage and control the finances of the project, maintain and report out on program statistics, work with the research consultant, ensure all regulations including health and safety are met. Additionally, the Manager will liaise with employment service providers, training centres, training consultants and employers. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 40 hour work week with an occasional requirement to work additional hours in order to meet deadlines.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications and Competencies:

• Degree or Diploma in the Social Service or Management field or a suitable combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated experience or knowledge of employment training systems and procedures
• Five years’ experience working in the community social service sector
• A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of income assistance, affordable housing and health resources
• A First Aid Training Certificate is an asset, must pass a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
• Must have 2 doses of Covid-19 Vaccine
• Must have a valid Class 5 licence
• Collaborative approach to delivering and developing programs and services.
• Proven ability to manage and lead a staff team in a unionized environment
• Demonstrated experience managing program budgets and delivering reports.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to organize and manage workload with multiple priorities
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
• Strong reporting, organization and computer skills
