Job Description / Duties

The Opportunity
Would you like to use your interpersonal skills to minister to homeless men and women living outdoors in alleys, under bridges, parks, and homeless camps throughout the Fraser Valley through the resource of the Mobile Mission vehicle? The Outreach Worker will assist in the delivery of basic needs on the street and build rapport with these individuals who have yet to access our continuum of care. This position will also assist the Manager of Mission Ministries in liaising with service providers and city stakeholders to better support people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and addiction in the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver areas. They will also strive to work alongside churches and Strategic Volunteers in regards to the Mobile Mission or ministry that intersects with both with a ministry approach that is consistent with UGM’s Vision and Core values. The weekly schedule for this position is Tuesday to Saturday.
You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.

Qualifications / Required Skills
