Accounting Officer

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Finance, this position provides support to the finance team. The Accounting Officer completes tasks related to the financial operation of the Society and works in accordance with the mission, values, principles and philosophy of Lookout Housing & Health Society including following Lookout’s Code of Ethics as well as completing work in a manner which meets generally accepted accounting principles and practices. The job functions are complex in nature, requiring a high degree of confidentiality and concentrated mental and written attention. This role will assist with payroll and benefit administration, and also on Accounting tasks such as entering A/R invoices, posting customer payments, recording cash, cheques, and credit card transition, collecting outstanding payments, reconciling revenue accounts, preparing monthly reports, and other special projects and general office tasks.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:

• Enrollment in a business or accounting course/field
• Must have current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate
• Must have two doses of COVID 19 Vaccine
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Skills Training is an asset
• Must pass a satisfactory Criminal Record Check

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to manage high workload with multiple priorities
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Must have experience using SAP software
• Demonstrated ability to work within a busy Finance Team
