Province: Vancouver, British Columbia

Deadline: March 27, 2023

Job Description / Duties

Do you desire to show the love of Jesus, intentionally connecting with women living in the DTES community by listening, praying, and providing hope? Are you adaptable, client-centered, and service-oriented? Do you value teamwork and cooperation, and working in a multi-ethnic and socially diverse context? Then we may have an opportunity for you. You will use your strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to minister directly to women living in the neighbourhood of the new Women & Families Centre and liaising with other service agencies—often advocating on behalf of community members. You will provide referrals, program activities, material needs, and assist with other tasks requested by the women. You will also provide support, care, and spiritual guidance—including facilitating chapel services, devotions, and Bible studies when required. If you have a strong Christian faith; at least one year of related work experience; can successfully set healthy boundaries with demanding individuals and those in crisis situations; and have a class 5 driver’s license, this may be a great fit!
You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The shift pattern is: Tuesday (9am-5pm), Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (1pm-9pm) and Saturday (9am-5pm). For a copy of the full job description, click on the "Download Job Description" button on the left panel of this page.
