Learn how to make your neighbourhood better together!
We invite community members—including housed and unhoused residents, business owners, and service providers—to join us for free education and training sessions to better understand issues related to poverty, unsheltered homelessness, and mental health.
Better Together Education sessions focus on a different topic each month. The same content is being provided at three different locations each month—so register for the session closest to you.
Cost: Free
Times: 6:30 – 8:30 for all sessions/locations
Registration required as space is limited. Light refreshments will be provided.
Trauma-Informed De-escalation and Introductory Helping Skills
This session will provide students with ways to start conversations with someone who may be in distress, introduce some basic sentence structures that can be helpful, and discuss resources in your neighbourhood. This course is designed for students from all levels of familiarity with interpersonal skills and de-escalation.
