Certified Dental Assistant – Contract, Surrey Health Solutions Dental Clinic

Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 09:00 – 17:00 Hours

Position Summary

Perform procedures such as: setting up x-rays, taking and developing x-rays, polishing teeth, and applying fluoride treatments and fissure sealant. Assist our dentist in procedure and sterilization of equipment. The successful candidate hold a Certified Dental Assistant Certification including at least one (1) year of experience working as a CDA. Salary and term will be negotiated depending on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Qualifications:

• High school graduate (or equivalent)
• Certification as a Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) required
• One year experience as a CDA
• Proof of completed radiation safety course
• Certificate for coronal polishing recommended
• Non-profit experience is an asset
• A First Aid Training Certificate is required
• Two doses of Covid vaccine
• Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sectors Clearance

Skills and Abilities:

• Demonstrated communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to complete forms in an orderly and accurate fashion
• Ability to manage high workload with multiple priorities
• Ability to work during significant level of interruptions
• Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Demonstrate knowledge of dental health education subjects
• Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment including advanced proficiency with personal computers including database management, spreadsheet development and word processing
• Able to use sound judgment
• Possess a calm disposition and the ability to work easily with people
