HSABC Webinar: Advocacy Skills and Poverty Law in Rural and Remote Settings: Stories, experiences, and approaches

July 23, 2024, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

In this webinar, Paul will be providing an overview of the most common poverty law issues that I deal with, as an Advocate: Employment Insurance, Residential Tenancy, Income Assistance, Canada Pension Plan, Disability (IA and CPP), and Employment Standards.

Instructor: Paul Lagace

Paul Lagace is the Coordinator and Legal Advocate for the Prince Rupert Unemployed Action Centre. In this session, he looks at the most common poverty-law issues happening, now, from a rural and remote settings perspective.

Anyone especially doing poverty-law advocacy work in a small city or town, or remote region should find this helpful. Paul has worked in the field for seven years in both Prince Rupert and Kitimat and is often found to be in dialogue with various media outlets throughout the Province, in regards to Tenancy matters.
