HSABC Webinar: Trauma in Practice - Informed Care in Frontline Settings

June 27, 2023, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Residents in homeless shelters and transition homes often have extensive trauma histories.  In this training participants will learn about the effects of trauma on the individual and about the behaviours that typically arise in coping with these effects.  We will discuss what it means to be trauma-informed and how to integrate this knowledge into everyday interactions and into facility procedures and practices.  Providing Trauma-informed Care is critical to helping individuals move through the barriers to healing.  The role that service providers play in this healing journey will also be explored.
