BIO: Dr. Christiana Bratiotis, PhD, MSW,
Dr. Christiana Bratiotis, PhD, MSW, is an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, with a distinguished career focused on the intersection of mental health, substance use, and hoarding. As the Faculty Chair of the MSW program, Dr. Bratiotis is a leading global authority on community-based interventions for hoarding, having spearheaded multi-disciplinary task forces around the world. She is the author of two acclaimed books on hoarding and has developed innovative tools, including the HOMES Multi-disciplinary Hoarding Risk Assessment. With over 250 invited lectures globally, Dr. Bratiotis is dedicated to sharing her expertise and enhancing the capabilities of frontline workers dealing with these complex issues, particularly within homeless populations. Her work has been recognized through awards such as the Tenancy Assistance Program Individual Award and the Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Bratiotis's commitment to social justice and diversity is evident in her 23 years of experience working with communities and non-profit organizations.
