Join us for a 6 session series on decolonization with Hummingbirds Rising. 

Session 1-Nov 7 - Introduction and Overview 

Session 2- Nov 9 - Capitalism, Racism, Education 

Session 3- Nov 14- Child Welfare, Healthcare, and the Justice System 

Session 4- Nov 15- Media, and White Supremacy 

Level 2 Workshops

Session 5- Dec 12-Communication 

In this workshop, participants will learn more about how English, white supremacy, and colonization have
impacted Indigenous languages, the importance of keeping language whole, and a reminder that Indigenous
languages are living languages. This workshop builds off of the communication education discussed in our Level

Session 6- Dec 14- Land Acknowledgement 

In this Level 2 workshop, we tackle the discourse around land acknowledgements. Participants will dissect
existing land acknowledgements, learn about Indigenous-land relations, and learn the difference between
performative and impactful acknowledgements. By the end of this workshop, each participant will have created a
unique, impactful land acknowledgement.
