Dr. Hillary McBride is has a Ph D Counselling Psychology.  During her doctoral studies, Hillary continues the research she started in her Masters: exploring women’s relationships with their bodies, particularly when women feel comfortable and appreciative of their own bodies. She is also involved in ongoing research about women’s postpartum sexual health, and perinatal mental health – supporting women’s well-being during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, as well as the experience of being a female doctoral student.

Hillary’s work is deeply personal, and informed by how she has both experience and observed women’s struggles to embrace themselves and their bodies, as they are, in all stages of life. She is an avid tea drinker, and will never turn down a cup of chai.

Shari McKenzie-Ramsay is a forensic nurse practitioner who does intake for sexual assault cases.

She graduated from UBC as a Registered Nurse in 2015. She works at Comox Valley Hospital on Vancouver Island in the emergency department and is a Forensic Nurse Examiner for the North Island. She previously worked in Mental Health and Addictions at the Hope Centre (acute psychiatry) and Magnolia House, a mental health transition house. She is Forensic Nurse Examiner with certification in Trauma in Health Care through BCIT and is a Take Home Naloxone program educator.  She has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from Carleton University (2001), in Ottawa. Shari is co-owner of Spiritus Wilderness Medical Training and has been teaching injury prevention since 1992. Shari is passionate about trauma informed care in health care and in a community setting. In the past Shari has volunteered with victim services through the RCMP, ground search and rescue, and was the Canadian Red Cross  injury prevention advisor for Risk Watch, a community based program to reduce injuries for school children in Nova Scotia.
