Job Description / Duties

The Opportunity
Do you have a passion for walking alongside vulnerable children and youth, providing a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care, support, and spiritual guidance? Do you enjoy planning and organizing events, and then jumping in to participate in the fun? Do you find it easy to be flexible and adaptable, and also to build rapport and trust with others quickly? If yes, we are looking for a creative and team-oriented person to be a role model and mentor to children and youth, providing support to them and their families.
You will be directly executing child-centered and age-appropriate programming for elementary-aged children and youth as they grow and mature, including outreach support to their families. You will work with a team to plan, develop, and implement well-rounded, faith-based children and youth programming that focus on the whole child/youth, as well as organize fieldtrips, seasonal activities, and special events throughout the year. If you have a personal knowledge and experience with Jesus Christ, at least 1 one-year of supervisory experience in children care or with elementary-aged children and/or youth, and have a valid class 5 driver’s license, then this might be a great opportunity for you—and us too! Cantonese and/or Mandarin fluency is an asset.
You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
This is a permanent, full-time position. For a copy of the full job description, please visit our website.
