Development Officer, Legacy Giving (Legacy Operations) - Union Gospel Mission

Province: Vancouver, British Columbia
Position: Development Officer, Legacy Giving (Legacy Operations)
Deadline: December 14, 2022

Job Description / Duties

UGM’s Legacy program is unique in that it doesn’t follow the more traditional approach of meeting with people to discuss their estate planning. Instead we have taken a relationally-focused approach that uses a variety of strategies such as marketing, direct mail and donor stewardship and cultivation to have donors self-identify their interest in receiving more information about this important decision and proactively find out who has placed UGM in their Will so those donors can be properly stewarded now.
Do you have 3-5 years of experience in major gifts, planned giving, and the not for profit sector, along with University and/or professional certification? Do you have an eye for detail, and a heart for people? The Development Officer, Legacy Giving, is responsible for the administration of estate gifts and for overseeing UGM’s innovative approach to growing the Legacy Giving portfolio. The incumbent provides regular supervision and direction to the Development Coordinators, Legacy Giving as well.
You may come into contact with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. For a copy of the full job description, please visit our website.
