Job Description / Duties

Digital Marketing
• Participate in the development of general digital strategy as well as staying on top of emerging digital
fundraising trends, channels and tactics.
• In consultation with the Manager, Marketing, plan, coordinate and execute digital fundraising
campaigns including:
▪ Coordinating the design and production of campaign pages on UGM.ca. This may include
working with internal and external partners and/or contractors to execute campaign assets
(lightboxes, emergency bars, homepage images, donate page images and calls-to-action)
▪ Coordinating UGM’s email marketing program, preparing email segments and A/B tests,
scheduling emails and sending test emails for approval.
▪ Contributing to strategy, planning, execution and analytical support of digital advertising,
including Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn etc.), Display/Banner Ads, SEM,
SEO and video advertising. A significant portion of digital advertising will involve preparing tests
for creative, copy and audiences, refining audiences, optimizing ad spend, analyzing results and
preparing reports.
▪ Preparing planning documents, project plans, briefs, asset lists and reports
• Collaborate with the Marketing Communications team to develop campaign, fundraising and donor
stewardship assets for web, email and digital advertising.
• Improve UGM’s digital fundraising channels via data-driven analysis and reporting with tools such as
testing, Google Analytics, and social analytics.
• Work closely with the Manager, Marketing to manage all aspects of UGM.ca, including creating new
pages, implementing edits to existing pages and ensuring content is up-to-date and current.
• Work closely with the Annual Giving team to coordinate UGM’s peer to peer giving strategy and
platform: My.UGM.ca
• Work collaboratively as needed with Marketing Communications team leads Manager, Marketing and
Manager, Media Relations & Communications under the direction of Senior Development Manager,
Strategy & Marketing.
• Assist with UGM’s community management interactions on social media platforms.
• Support and participate in the development of general social media strategy as well as staying on top
of emerging social media trends, channels and tactics.
• Improve UGM’s digital channels via data-driven analysis of tools such as testing, Google Analytics,
and social analytics.

• Track and report trends on activity on digital media, and make recommendations about tools and best
practices to the Marketing Communications Team, which will assist in informing content creation and
strategy development
Leadership & Management
• Commit to providing servant-leadership nourishing a truthful, forgiving, approachable, joyful, healthy
environment.
• Model open communication and work collaboratively within the Resource Development Department
and UGM as a whole for the good of the organization, in support of UGM’s mission, core values and
strategic plan.
• Supervise outside consultants and vendors, as necessary.
General
• Adhere to all UGM published policies, practices and procedures, including Occupational Health and
Safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications / Required Skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• University and/or professional certification, along with 3 years of experience in annual giving, digital
marketing, and the not for profit sector.
• Expertise and experience in digital fundraising, specifically in website content management systems,
email platforms and digital advertising.
• Consideration may be given to alternate combinations of lived experience and education.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads and Facebook Ads Manager
• Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.
• Proven time management skills.
• Intermediate computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience with and working knowledge of donor database systems or CRMs
• Proficient in project management software such as Asana and collaboration tools such as Dropbox,
Google Drive and Slack.
• Basic website editing skills (Drupal) and HTML is an asset.
• A valid BC driver’s license is an asset.
