Job Description / Duties

As a member of the multidisciplinary team at Victory House and Cordova House, the Clinical Educator provides expert clinical guidance and support in the care of residents, building on traditional Registered Nurse responsibilities with a focus on education, mentorship, and evidence-informed practice. They are also expected to be a leader in maintaining and promoting high clinical standards across all sites with nursing staff, ensuring consistent, safe, and high-quality care.

Qualifications / Required Skills

• Graduate of a Registered Nursing Program or a Registered Psychiatric Nursing Program; or BSN or BScN. Must hold current registrations with BCCNP.
• Two year’s experience in psychiatric care/mental health settings.
• Or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
• Three years’ recent related experience and two years formal experience in adult teaching/learning and curriculum development; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Current occupational first aid and CPR certification.
• Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Course preferred.
• Knowledge of mental health recovery principles and approaches to care. • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to operate related equipment. Knowledge of computer programs including MS windows environment, MS Outlook, and Word.
• Ability to empathize and work with people who may have experienced abuse, poverty, grief and loss, oppression, violence, mental health challenges, and/or addictions issues, and/or those who may be living with HIV/AIDS or other life-limiting or life-threatening conditions.
• Ability to perform nursing assessments and provide care for people with chronic mental health concerns.
• Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate care, and collaborate with interdisciplinary team
members in care planning.
• Demonstrated cultural safety and sensitivity, including respect for Indigenous peoples, diverse cultural backgrounds, and the unique needs of marginalized populations.
• Ability to provide guidance and assistance to interdisciplinary team members in areas of clinical practice.
• Ability to work independently and professionally.
• Ability to foster a working environment of collaboration, skill, collegiality, and enthusiasm.

Additional Information

Status:
Full-Time, Monday to Friday 6:30am – 2:30pm

Salary: Hourly Wage: $55.91 - $63.47
