Job Description / Duties

Do you have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building positive relationships with marginalized women in the Downtown Eastside? If yes, then read on!
In this position you will be responsible for assisting in the care of women, with or without babies, who enter the Sanctuary Stabilization Program by ensuring they have a safe and clean place to find direction and assistance. You may be making referrals for housing, clothing, shelter and recovery, which could include: organizing and participating in program activities with residents; driving and accompanying residents to appointments and/or meetings; and providing care for infants when asked. As a ministry position, your personal knowledge and experience of the saving work of Jesus Christ will be an opportunity to pray and provide spiritual support to residents. If you have related work or volunteer experience, can successfully set healthy boundaries with demanding individuals and those in crisis, and possess a class 5 driver’s license, this might be a great opportunity for you. You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
This is a permanent, full-time position, which work a rotating shift pattern of four-on and four-off. The first two shifts in the rotation are 7am-7pm, and the last two shifts are from 7pm-7am.
