Job Description / Duties

The Opportunity
Do you want to make a positive difference in the current housing affordability crisis’s devastating effects on the Lower Mainland’s most vulnerable? Are you passionate about providing trauma-informed and women-centered practical and pastoral care to women in an abstinence -based transitional housing community? Are you a mature Christian leader who enjoys and is gifted with innovation, developing others, and planning and organizing? If so, this role will be of interest to you! You will use your strong leadership and analytical thinking skills and to advocate for the program tenants and assist with their ongoing recovery and personal goals. You will rely on your creativity, combined with your comprehensive knowledge of addiction and recovery issues, to provide discernment of the vision for Sanctuary transitional housing, nurturing healthy organizational culture and helping to design ministry programs. Your strong interpersonal skills, coupled with your effective supervisory experience, will be critical in order to oversee several positions in the housing team. If you have related post-secondary education, experience in a housing-related field—including in a recovery-based and abstinence-based model, a growing relationship with Jesus, and a valid class 5 driver’s license, this could be a great fit.
You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
