The Opportunity
Do you have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and have a desire to work with the Downtown Eastside community? Are you adaptable, collaborative, and service oriented? Do you want to play a role in developing and maintaining a healthy culture, providing spiritual leadership, and support for our Hastings facility guests and staff? If yes, we are looking for a Shift Supervisor – Shelter Worker, who is responsible for assisting the Hastings Chaplaincy Supervisor.
You will be helping to provide vision for the ministry programs and spiritual leadership for all outreach and ministry support workers at the Hastings Facility. Ideally, you will have 3-4 years of related work experience with a knowledge of issues related to poverty, homelessness, addiction, and mental health, as well as related post-secondary education. If you have a valid Class 5 drivers’ license, have experience in developing and implementing outreach strategies to marginalized people, as well as experience program planning and evaluation, then this position might be the right fit for you.
