Job Description / Duties

Are you passionate about helping and serving others out of poverty, homelessness, addiction and looking for more than a job? If yes, then read on! Do you have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building positive relationships with Vancouver’s most vulnerable women?
In this position you will be responsible for assisting in the care of women, with or without babies, who enter the Sanctuary Stabilization Program by ensuring they have a safe and clean place to find direction and assistance. You may be making referrals; organizing and participating in program activities with residents; driving and accompanying residents to appointments and/or meetings; and providing care for infants when asked. As a care worker position, you will have opportunity to pray and provide spiritual support to residents. If you have a strong relationship with Jesus, related experience, and possess a class 5 driver’s license, you can successfully set healthy boundaries with demanding individuals, this might be a great opportunity for you.
You will frequently deal with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
There are two positions available. One is permanent, full-time, and the other is an 18-month auxiliary, full-time contract. These positions work a rotating shift pattern of four-on and four-off. The first two shifts in the rotation are 7am-7pm, and the last two shifts are from 7pm-7am.
