Job Description / Duties

Do you have 3-5 years of experience in editing, creative writing, technical writing, fundraising, donor relations, major gifts or a related field in the non-profit sector? We are looking for a Development Officer, Foundations, to write and prepare grant proposals to foundations and government sources, conducting research on granting opportunities, managing relationships with foundations, prospecting for new foundation sources, and conducting face-to-face meetings and tours as needed.
The incumbent will also assist in the gathering of materials and statistics, preparation of stewardship reports, and other interim communication to Foundations and tracking of Foundation deadlines. With guidance, the incumbent will implement direction and strategy for the foundation’s portfolio, and is also responsible for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation donors.
You may come into contact with clients in crisis situations, brought about by diverse problems. There will be other staff nearby to assist as required.
