 start with individual change to more effectively drive system change. Th
 is 12-hour training series, held over four sessions, provides a foundati
 onal understanding of colonization’s impacts and what it means to enga
 ge in decolonization meaningfully. Participants will learn how small cha
 nges can contribute to a broader movement, making this workshop an essen
 tial first step.\n\nOver four sessions, we connect the dots between past
  and present to deepen non-Indigenous Canadians’ understanding of how 
 Canada was built on a cracked foundation and the realities Indigenous pe
 ople continue to face. Participants will explore systemic barriers uphel
 d by colonial frameworks, the responsibilities individuals and instituti
 ons have in advancing decolonization, and practical tools for action.\n\
 nThe pace and focus of each session are guided by group engagement, ensu
 ring we take the time needed to unpack complex topics while fostering th
 oughtful reflection and discussion. This workshop is accessible to every
 one, no matter where they are on their journey. By the end of this serie
 s, participants will benefit from shifting perspectives and gain tangibl
 e tools to implement decolonization in their personal and professional l
 ives.\n\n-- Instructor: Rhiannon Bennett  --\n\nInstructor Bio: Rhian
 non Bennett (she/her) is Musqueam and a much-sought-after speaker who is
  well known for asking tough questions in a manner that encourages engag
 ement and dialogue. She is actively working to create a more equitable w
 orld for all. She has been working with children, youth and families for
  over 20 years in a variety of roles. Professionally, she has worked wit
 h Indigenous youth and families with overarching themes of her work bein
 g Decolonization. After years of frustration with poor policies and fund
 ing cuts, Rhiannon was led to become more politically active. In 2014, s
 he was the first Indigenous person elected to the Delta Board of Educati
 on. As a Delta School Board Trustee, Rhiannon focused on repairing and b
 uilding stronger relationships with education partners. She was appointe
 d to the B.C. School Trustees Association’s Indigenous Education Commi
 ttee and was named co-chair of the committee until the end of her term.\
