 ancouver
DESCRIPTION:January 25, 2023\n\n \n\nIn this Anti-Oppressive De-Escalati
on Skills training, we explore ways to center clients and help them in w
ays that don’t perpetuate or exasperate power inequities. \n\nWe will
look at ways to self-regulate, hold space for clients that may be displ
aying aggressive behaviours, and learn ways to de-escalate intense situa
tions.\n\nApproaching clients in this manner helps nurture and foster re
lationships where people feel safe, happy, and housed. This approach pro
vides the stability and safety needed for clients to work on the areas o
f their lives they identify as needing work.\n\nSome of the main things
 we’ll cover include:\n\n* Centering clients\n\n* Low-intensity situati
 ons\n\n* High-intensity situations\n\n* Prevention of escalation\n\n* Re
lationship building\n\n* Self-awareness\n\n   Venue: Caveman Keto Cafe
