 ey Mawer is a Registered Nurse and Owner/ Co-Founder of Westside Harm Re
 duction, she has been an activist for the human rights and public health
  of people who use drugs for more than a decade. Hailey has a passion fo
 r evidence-based care and dismantling problematic policies, practices an
 d structural stigma through; education, program development and consulti
 ng with organizations in the development and implementation of harm redu
 ction frameworks, policies and quality improvement initiatives.\n\nShe p
 rovides both in person and virtual learning opportunities across both Al
 berta and B.C. Hailey started her nursing career in sexual health and pl
 ayed a founding role in the opening and development of the first Sexual 
 Health clinic, providing health services to Maskwacis, Treaty 6. Since t
 hen, Hailey has been working tirelessly to build capacity, develop polic
 ies, frameworks and implement quality improvement initiatives to reduce 
 mortality rates associated with the drug poisoning crisis and systemic n
 ecropolitics that impact the most vulnerable.\n\nRecently, after impleme
 nting quality improvement initiatives an organization saw a 96% reductio
 n in overdoses/drug poisonings. As a clinician, educator, consultant, an
 d advocate with a passion for reducing social and institutional inequiti
 es, she aims to bridge gaps in knowledge related to sex, drugs, and harm
  reduction through the provision of culturally safe and evidence-based s
 ervices.
