Webinar: Practicing Cultural Safety in Frontline Work
September 29, 2026, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Webinar Description:
Cultural safety isn't about having all the answers—it's about being willing to learn, reflect, and build genuine relationships. In this practical and engaging webinar, Dustin Cardinal shares what cultural safety looks like on the frontlines, drawing on years of experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, substance use, trauma, mental health challenges, and housing instability.
Through real stories, practical examples, and honest conversation, Dustin explores how small shifts in our everyday practice can help create spaces where people feel respected, valued, and safe. Together, we'll look at how trust is built, how systems and bias influence the way services are experienced, and what it means to show up with humility, accountability, and compassion.
Whether you're new to cultural safety or looking to deepen your practice, you'll leave with practical ideas you can apply immediately in your work with individuals, families, and communities.
In this webinar, you'll explore:
- What cultural safety looks like in everyday frontline practice.
- Building trust through relationships, respect, and accountability.
- Recognizing how colonialism, trauma, and systemic barriers shape people's experiences.
- Practical ways to create more welcoming, inclusive, and culturally safer environments.
- Reflective practices that support ongoing learning and growth.
