In Person: Self Care: Resilience in Practice with Dr Hillary McBride

May 20, 2026, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

In Person Training Description:

Victoria, BC

Location: TBA

Self Care has been touted as an antidote to burn out and sustainable care giving. But as the word becomes more mainstream, what does it actually mean if it's not just bubble baths and lighting a candle? How do we understand how to care for ourselves, what that actually means and looks like, and the barriers?

In this workshop we will address the history of self care as a practice and movement before moving into exploring our relationships with ourselves, and engaging in experiential practices to explore how to tend to and nourish ourselves in ways which support our healthy and long term care giving roles.

No matter whether you've done decades of self care work and want to revitalize your practices, or you're new to understanding how to engage in self care in ways which are meaningful and therapeutic, this workshop is for you.

**Please know that this workshop is interactive and experiential: you will get out of it as much as you are able to put in. Meaningful participation will yield a more meaningful experience. Please come ready to participate and engage for the duration of the session. There will also be some physical exercises and movement practices so please reach out ahead of time to let us know of any specific accommodations needed*
