DESCRIPTION:Participants in this HSABC Online training class explore the 
 overlap between trauma, mental health and addiction. Schizophrenia, depr
 ession and the many faces of anxiety will be covered, as well as\neffect
 ive strategies for engagement and interventions. Participants will have 
 an opportunity to examine common barriers to services and possible solut
 ions. This training looks through a Trauma informed lens at Mental Healt
 h and Addiction..\n\nInstructor: Katherine Aubrey\nKatherine Aubrey has 
 over 20 years of experience working with people who have faced trauma,\n
 addictions, homelessness and/or mental illness. Her varied, front-line w
 ork experience ranges\nfrom in-reach prison work, group therapy, parole 
 supervision and addictions and mental health\ncounseling. She also has e
 xperience working with both victims and perpetrators of\nviolence. Some 
 of her past and current employers include Correctional Service Canada, L
 ongterm\nInmates Now in the Community, Aurora Centre/Residential Addicti
 ons Treatment for\nWomen, KlaHowEya, Metis Nation and numerous non-profi
 t organizations. She has a Bachelor\nof Arts degree in Criminology and P
 sychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology with\nspecializati
 on in Mental Health Counseling. She also completed a Cross-Cultural Faci
 litation\nSkills Intensive for Diversity Trainers in Berkley, California
